Zone Conference - Palermo and Catania Version

This past Sunday and Monday the Palermo Zone came together with the Catania Zone for an all Sicily Zone Conference.  What a delight it was for all us to learn together and rejoice together.

There was some great discourses and discussions on reaching beyond the current plateau we are on, how to effectively use Preach My Gospel, and being a better missionary.  One way is: If every day you talk about Jesus Christ, you have had a successful mission.

We rejoice together because old friendships were strengthen and new friendships were made. Anziano Garrett and I were grateful to create a new friendship with Anziano and Sorelle Scoville serving here as humanitarian missionaries specifically with helping refugees.

 We were also able to host 4 anziani at our home for Sunday night from Catania.  Two of which were good friends from their previous time in the Palermo Zone.

Of course another favorite part of zone conference is eating.  Food is good for the body but visiting over food is good for the soul.

And we may have started a new tradition or perhaps kept an old tradition going.  When we first arrived over a year ago, Anziano Garrett showed a favorite tie by flipping the end up to review a hidden picture of us and our then three grandchildren.  Flipping ties up became a fun and silly part of some district meetings and even ward events.  This time Anziano Garrett made a insert for each missionary tie with a picture of President and Sorella Pickerd just to show our love to them and at a designated time all the anziani flipped their tie up to show their support and thanks to them for all they do for us.

It is great to have zone conference.  And what a treat to have the Catania Zone with us this time around.
