Port Discovery

What is a mom, dad, 2 year old along with grandma and grandpa suppose to do on a rainy Saturday in Baltimore, MD?  You go to Port Discovery!  Port Discovery is Baltimore's Children Museum; and it is an awesome one of that.

On our spring visit to see Anthony, Jana and Zoe; we did just that and we had so much fun.  Port Discovery Children's Museum has something to fun to do in every nook and corner and even along the walkways from room to room and floor to floor.  We all had a blast and played for hours.

Our first stop was the art room, Zoe and Grandpa decorated bags with markers, strings and stamps;

such a simple but pleasurable activity.

Building blocks can also be used for pretend dishes of pitchers, cups, and plates.

Wandering in Tots Trails; Zoe "caught butterflies", crawled through tunnels, explored the "ocean" and pored herself, myself and her mommy drinks with the building blocks.  It is so interesting to see her imagination see cups and bowls with the blocks of wood. 

Jana was prepared and knew the next stop should be Wonders of Water.  Zoe enjoyed building her own pipe system, washing windows, and shooting water.  There was rain slickers to wear along with crocs for the feet, but if you did get too wet they had a giant dryer with many sprouts blowing warm air.  Wonders was a great name because the water works were wonderful.

I told you they used the space wisely.  There was this train engine along with a cart and caboose in the walkway and each time we passed it, we stopped so Zoe could drive it.  It might have been her favorite part because she could not resist it.  What a cute conductor she makes.

Knowing that Zoe loves to cook, we visited Tiny's Diner where she prepared us a feast of toast it appears.  Zoe cooked, washed and served lots of goodies.  Tiny's Diner was a mast of children but there was room for all - there was not "too many cooks in the kitchen" to spoil the fun.

After our "meal" we felt the hunger pains in the stomach for real so a break to eat lunch was made. 

 But not without a brief moment of Zoe not wanting to leave.  I mean, who cares about feeding 4 grownups when a 2 year old is having a blast.

We appreciated the ease of reentry and than we made a visit to the Royal Farms Convenience Store to pick up some cereal and fruit, a few of Zoe's favorites eats.  I noticed she chose the healthy Raisin Bran.

The day had been full and busy with a lot of energy expended so off to the Oasis to wind down. 

What a great spot to visit last where we could all just slow down a little and make the departure a bit smoother.
