GANS Super Sabato and Carnivale

Marzo 4, 2017

Just last week we were busy celebrating Carnivale with the GANS (Young Adults) of the Palermo Stake here in Sicily.  The GANS planned a super Saturday of fun from costumes to pizza to a photo scavenger hunt to a dance to a special Sunday class.

We have pandas, pirates, pajamas, horses, cheerleaders, cops, princesses, and Bonnie and Clyde

This princess always lights up the room with her smile

This crown was more like a unicorn horn

The balloons were a big hit with the kids

We had great support and fun kiddos

Our GANS came from Catania, Syracusa, and Messina to Palermo for the Super Sabato and after a long day we had the opportunity to host 3 young men for the night.

Carnivale in Palermo is celebrated all month long with the children dressing in costumes and wandering around the city with their parents.  They love the wearing of their costume and they love throwing confetti.

During the last days of Carnivale, Palermo hosted a costume contest from the schools in the area. It was amazing to see the elaborate costumes made from colored paper and tape by the young people. We also enjoyed some cool props.
